I design and run software platforms. At Acronis, our performance investigations helped cut load times by a reported 50% across the tested flows. At Oracle, I worked with software vendors to turn migration decisions into infrastructure their teams could deploy.

Summary

I built a Node.js and Vue platform that let engineers repeat slow user journeys and inspect screenshots, video and network requests captured with Playwright. Those findings contributed to a reported 50% reduction in load times across the tested flows.

A browser performance test is useful only when its result helps someone understand what happened and what to change. At Acronis, I built an application to run UI performance tests programmatically, catch regressions and investigate failures. Over time, the work expanded from a runner into a platform connecting web/API services, scheduling, workers, reporting and operational controls. The engineering challenge crossed the browser, backend, infrastructure and the teams investigating the results.

Constraints

  • Test execution and reporting had different responsibilities. Browser work needed a controlled execution environment; completed runs needed processing, storage and useful presentation.
  • The platform had to support API-driven workflows as well as a user interface, and workers needed to communicate with a central application across regional worker groups.
  • Useful diagnostics required more than a score: screenshots, video, network evidence and the ability to relate a run to the behavior under investigation.
  • Reliability experiments needed explicit safety, recovery and rollback controls across Kubernetes and virtual-machine environments.
OameniA product for communities and real-world eventsI designed the organizer and participant flows across a PHP/Slim API, Vue 3 and Capacitor. Summary

I designed the organizer and participant flows across a PHP/Slim API, Vue 3 and Capacitor. Organizers can sell tickets through Stripe Connect, handle billing through Oblio and delegate check-in to event staff.

An event brings together several journeys. A participant wants to find something relevant, register and know how to attend. An organizer needs to manage the event and the people joining it. A community needs continuity beyond a single date. I designed and built Oameni to connect these needs in one product, taking responsibility across product decisions, application/backend architecture, APIs, infrastructure, security and operations.

Constraints

  • Participant and organizer workflows need to fit together: an action on one side changes the information and work on the other.
  • Events, community membership, registration and payments introduce related but distinct product states. A useful design has to keep those relationships understandable.
  • Web and mobile experiences need consistent underlying capabilities while serving different interaction contexts.
  • As an owned product, feature decisions also carry operational, support and maintenance consequences.

Summary

I helped software vendors choose an OCI migration approach by discussing workload constraints and testing alternatives. Terraform, Ansible and Cloud-Init turned the agreed design into provisioning steps their engineers could run.

A cloud migration has to fit the customer’s software, business needs and ability to operate the result. At Oracle, I worked with independent software vendors through discovery, design, implementation and adoption. The role combined customer-facing architecture with hands-on engineering: understand the constraints, review the requested solution, build the migration assets and help the customer use them.

Constraints

  • Existing on-premises workloads brought their own assumptions and dependencies; a requested cloud design needed technical review in that context.
  • Migration assets had to become usable provisioning and bootstrap automation, not stop at an architecture presentation.
  • Delivery required coordination between customers, sales, cloud specialists and engineering, with feedback incorporated into the solution.
  • The handover needed to support early adoption and the practical questions that appear once the customer starts using the result.

Summary

Support staff waited about 60 seconds for some account-management actions. I tuned MySQL queries and Memcached use in the PHP application. The affected backend actions and selected frontend interactions became near-instant.

My Account & Licensing was part of Avira Customer Connect. Its software sat across user accounts, license generation, payment providers, upgrades and renewals. My work was hands-on programming: extend APIs and integrations, investigate application and SQL behavior, build supporting workflows and help colleagues work effectively in the development environment.

Constraints

  • Account, licensing and payment flows needed to work across several provider integrations, including Cleverbridge, Google and Apple.
  • Slow user actions required investigation across PHP application logic, SQL queries and caching rather than a single-layer optimization.
  • The work included existing MySQL 5.6 behavior and support for a move to MySQL 5.7.
  • Internal operations and email handling added Kafka, Selligent and S3 integration responsibilities alongside the primary API work.

Summary

As Technology Manager, I designed the Phalcon PHP application core, automated scaling on AWS Elastic Beanstalk and guided colleagues through SQL and production issues. Enterprise customers could connect their identity systems to the platform.

Across two separate Co-Factor engagements, I combined platform architecture, enterprise integrations and hands-on application engineering with security, operations and customer delivery. The 2015–2016 work included Active Directory/LDAP and SOAP integrations, stack optimization and infrastructure. The 2017–2018 work included a new Phalcon platform core, Symfony training features, AWS Elastic Beanstalk automation and SNS-backed email workers. AD FS integration was also part of my Co-Factor work.

Constraints

  • Work spanned existing PHP applications and new platform capabilities, with enterprise integrations and customer requirements shaping technical decisions.
  • Cloud delivery included AWS Elastic Beanstalk configuration and scripts for scaling and orchestration, alongside application-level email processing with multiple workers.
  • Performance and security work crossed the application, database, web server, operating system and operating environment.
  • Training features also included browser video capture and a configurable conversion worker with HTTP, S3, SFTP or local inputs, export destinations and database-state updates.

Bogdan, the person

I’m Bogdan. Computers have been part of my life since childhood, and so have the people who helped me learn, trusted me with a first project or welcomed me into a community. Here is a little of that story. Curiosity, listening and working things out together still shape how I build products today.

Let’s connect

From the first question to everyday use

Shape the product

Start from what people need and what already exists. Question the request when a better-fitting option exists, and make the trade-offs explicit before building.

Build the whole system

Connect APIs, data, payments, integrations and infrastructure into one working product, from licensing and renewals to event registration and ticketing.

Keep it working and evolving

Stay close after launch: diagnostics, reliability work with recovery and rollback, security hardening, support and the next useful improvement.
